End uses include drinking, industrial water supply, irrigation, river flow maintenance, water recreation and others, including safely returning the water to the environment. Wastewater treatment (or sewage treatment) is the removal of impurities from wastewater (or sewage) before it reaches natural bodies of water (such as rivers, lakes, estuaries or oceans). In order to meet water specifications, utilities and OEMs can specify a motor for any pump (or compressor or fan application) used in the water and wastewater sector.
