Port Cranes play an important role in container terminals or yards by stacking containers or loading them onto waiting vessels.
  • Along the quay side of the port, you’ll find Quay Cranes or STS (ship to shore) Cranes, located there for easy access for container ships.
  • Deeper in yards, you’ll find Yard Cranes (commonly RMG or RTG cranes), used to move containers from the yard onto trailers.
  • Rubber Tired Gantry (RTG) cranes
  • Rail Mounted Gantry (RMG) cranes

Typical applications are Boom, Gantry, Trolley and Hoist.

Offshore cranes play an important part in heavy duty lifting under extreme conditions for deep sea or oil and gas environments. If mounted on a vessel, a crane’s operational temperature may vary from tropical heat to polar cold situations. High waves on the open sea add another challenge, requiring robust engineering.
