Rotor 65 years aniversary, celebrated on October 6th, 2023
In 1958, Mr. Th.M. Kraakman started importing MEZ electric motors from Czechoslovakia under the company name Rotor BV.
This turned out to be a great success. Rotor quickly outgrew its premises and decided to move to Eibergen, where the foundation was laid for the production of special electric motors.
Over the years, Rotor has grown into a wonderful organization where around 55 passionate and skilled employees work every day to sell, modify and supply electric motors.
In October 2023, Rotor existed for no less than 65 years. To celebrate this important and respectable milestone, all employees were invited to the ‘Rotor 65 years anniversary celebration’. Except for the four-person organization, not a single employee knew what that day would look like.
At 8:00 am a touringcar full of curious and expectant employees left for the first unknown destination.
Only when the bus stopped at the Veth Propulsion parking lot in Papendrecht did we know what our first destination was.
The enthusiastic employees of Veth Propulsion allowed us to immerse ourselves in the world of propulsion solutions. During the impressive tour we saw that our own engines are an important part of the total solution.
After lunch the bus drove on to the next destination: Rotterdam. With great anticipation we saw a huge luxury tour boat moored, which had been rented entirely for Rotor. During a 2-hour cruise, everyone enjoyed the sun, the view, the impressive harbor and a tasty snack and drink. At the end, several Rotor employees discovered that the tour boat also contained several Rotor engines in its engine room.
Towards the end of the afternoon we moored at the jetty next to the impressive SS Rotterdam, where the last part of this festive day took place. They ate, drank, laughed and danced there.
A nice ending to a very successful day.
