Brake motor

Brake motor | Rotor
Only the best quality brakes are selected for Rotor NL® Brake Motors. We use specific application data to produce our brake motors, using brands like Pintsch, Stromag, Precima, Lenze or equivalent brakes. Brake motors can have up to an IP67 level of protection. Brake selection depends largely on a diverse range of applications, allowing different brake types with a variety of features and properties.
There are two types of brakes used in Rotor brake motors: dynamic brakes and holding brakes. For dynamic (or full speed breaking), the brake can be engaged at any time. Whether the application is in operation or not, the brake will stop the application. On the other hand, a holding brake can only keep an application stationary.
As an example, if a brake is used for an application requiring a holding brake, that brake cannot be used for dynamic breaking. Rather, that brake will be applied after the motor has come to a stop. We recommend consulting our technical team when choosing a motor with dynamic breaking.
